Weed Management in Annual and Perennial Systems
Specific Areas of Responsibility: Weed management strategies in annual and perennial systems in disturbed and undisturbed habitats. Current projects include management of leafy spurge, purple loosestrife in wetlands; garlic mustard and buckthorn in woodlands; and Canada thistle in native prairies, pastures and right-of-ways. Also prairie establishment, weed management in forages and in processing vegetables, and the environmental impacts of herbicide and non-herbicide weed management systems.

Weed Management in Small Grains
The primary goal of my applied research program is to provide Minnesota's agricultural producers and agricultural professionals with the information needed to make effective, economical, and environmentally sound weed management decisions in small grains. To accomplish this goal, I conduct field research on experiment stations and in growers fields.
